listen with Fixed Media Works for Listening Session Sonic Nomads is a sound art festival curated by Transients, focusing on field recording and deep listening. The festival explores various sonic practices that emerge between place, movement, documentation, and listening, introducing sound works and listening experiences based on field recording. The 2026 edition of Sonic Nomads will take place under the theme listen with. Who do we listen with? What do we listen with? In what kind of space do we listen? Listening with others, with places, with memories, or with non-human presences — the interpretation is open to each artist. Sonic Nomads 2026 will take place from October 22 to 25, 2026, at SNU Power Plant, Seoul National University, Seoul, South Korea. We are looking for fixed media sound works based on field recording, which propose unique ways of listening, recording, and sensing the world.

We are thrilled to continue the Global Sonic Research Residency 2026 at ZKM | Hertzlab, partnering with Arts Council Korea (ARKO) and the European Center for the Arts HELLERAU. This year, we select one Korean artist/researcher in addition to an already chosen artist/researcher roster, working at the frontiers of sonic arts to craft an immersive spatial sound experience probing the theme »Exoplanetary Voices«. This residency spans two premier European hubs for spatial sound and performance: ZKM | Hertzlab in Karlsruhe and HELLERAU in Dresden. Proposals should harness spatial audio to speculate on alien listening, extraterrestrial longings and human-exophonic entanglements.

Sound and Music Computing Conference is the annual international event of the Sound and Music Computing community, organised under the umbrella of the SMC Network, a global platform that supports research, artistic practice and education in sound and music computing. The 2026 conference will take place in Zagreb as part of Music Biennale Zagreb, bringing this year’s theme, INTERPLAY, into focus.
