Sonic Saturday 2026

As part of the Ars Electronica Festival 2026, Sonic Saturday invites submissions of fixed media works for presentation in our MEDIUM SONORUM concert and Listening Room sessions. This year’s theme, “Audible Futures, Silent Decisions”, invites works that explore how futures are shaped through sonic practices and the decisions embedded within them. Rather than imagining the future as something distant, we consider how it is already unfolding through choices: what is made audible, what is simulated, what is enhanced, and what is left aside. Listening becomes a site where realities are constructed and negotiated. In digital and spatial sound practices, artists operate within systems that increasingly mediate and automate these processes. We are interested in works that engage with these conditions, questioning how sonic environments can function as spaces for reflection, experimentation, and the shaping of possible futures.
